History

In 1927, William F. Dorn, a salesman with Glidden Paint joined with a local printing company, to form Jontzen-Dorn and began production of color cards. In the beginning color sheets were brushed out by hand and chips for cards and posters were glued by hand. Customers were primarily paint companies.

After a few years the printing and color merchandising divisions were split and Dorn Color Card Company continued increasing capabilities and entering new product lines.

The company name was changed to Dorn Color in 1987 to better reflect the company’s move into diverse product lines and markets. Today Dorn produces a wide spectrum of products including color cards, color decks, point of purchase displays, color pieces, display boards, sales kits, and provides services from total project management and systems launch to design, fulfillment and warehousing.

Still a privately held and family owned company, Dorn services a vast array of industries with personal attention to the unique requirements of each client.
