Many cities have been launching beautification projects to draw attention to the arts community and spice up the urban landscape. Murals are a cost effective way to create a beautiful piece of art while turning a large drab area into something a bit more exciting.
Palmitas en Pachuca in Mexico has taken the idea of community murals to a whole different level. The city decided to bring some life to a low-income neighborhood by contracting with a local art collective to turn over 209 buildings into a massive work of art.
Over 20,000 gallons of paint were used to create this colorful neighborhood.
